The legislative session for 2024 is long over; legislators have taken holiday breaks and are now back to work creating new laws in the latest 2025 legislative session. But for 2024’s legislative session, about 3,000 new laws were proposed, including once again, dozens of proposed housing regulations. Through the extensive advocacy efforts undertaken by the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles and its allies, most of the more harmful of these proposed new laws were knocked out early in the process and have been avoided – but there’s always a chance they will return again this year.
